Spring Giveaway - Pride and Prejudice Bookshelf Necklace

I have a new giveaway, with a brand new necklace design! This next month, enter to win my Pride and Prejudice Bookshelf Necklace:

It's a pretty sage green, with a quill and ink and sheets of note paper on the top shelf, and a little perfume bottle on a lace doily, as well as a bookmarked book with a bundle of lavender sitting on it on the middle shelf. I also accented it with gold paint, and a gold plated chain. Very Pride and Prejudice feeling!  Perfect for any Jane Austin fan!

This necklace actually began as a custom design I created with a customer - but I love it so much, I'm making it a permanent design! We were trying to design a bookshelf necklace with romantic Victorian or Regency elements, and this is what resulted :)

The giveaway will run from today until June 12th.  I'll contact you through one of the mediums you entered by (Facebook, Twitter, email...) and post you your prize at no cost to you.  Open to everyone, anywhere in the world!

Enter here (click on the entries if you need more information):

Teapot Earrings Galore

I've started making my tiny teapot earrings again and putting them back into my shop :)  They're quite fun to make, and I'm getting better at making them match.  It's a bit hard not to make one spout longer than the other, or one with a slightly wonky handle...

They look quite cute on little ears, and I have a couple pairs myself that I like to wear.  I find these don't sell well online for some reason, but are the most common item I sell at craft fairs!  Hmm...

New Item! ...sort of?

I've introduced a gift certificate option in my Etsy shop for people wanting to purchase a bookshelf necklace for someone, but not knowing what design they would like!  You can purchase it from my shop, where I will then message you a special code which you can gift to your friend (along with an address to my shop, which would be a good idea ;)).  They can then message me quoting the code, and which necklace they would like!

Check out my Paint skills with the gift certificate's picture:

I know, I know, I should go into graphic design.

New Bookshelf Necklace: Shabby Chic Bookshelf Necklace

Hooray, I have a new bookshelf necklace design to share!  I'm particularly fond of this one, as it's quite pretty and has a nice little bow on the side.  Here's a swatch of pictures:

I hope everyone else likes it!  I made the shabby chic effect by first painting the bookshelf dark brown, and then really roughly painting it over in cream.  The chain is bronze, and a little cream coloured bow sewn to the side finishes it off!  Very sweet :)  I like how the third picture has the word 'philologist' right underneath the necklace.  I wonder which book I grabbed for the photoshoot....

New items: single books!

I thought I'd share some of my new items!  They feature single books, not a whole bookshelf ;)  I also was able to experiment with beads in the necklaces - and use my new tiny pink round nosed pliers!  I may become a beadaholic like a lot of other crafters if this keeps up, so I better be careful ;)  Here are some of my new items:

English Rose Necklace, £15

English Rose Cuff Bracelet, £15

English Rose Ring, £15

Ancient Book Ring, £15

Ancient Book Necklace, £15

My photography is getting better, but I still have a ways to go - I think my biggest hurdle is forcing myself to take photos BEFORE the sun starts setting.  That's usually when I rush to take them all :)  I need more light!!

In other news, I just figured out that my shop url is also http://www.coryographies.etsy.com/ - that would look much nicer on my business cards than www.etsy.com/shop/coryographies!!  Oh well, I'll remember for next time... :)

Lots of new items!

I got busy with the camera today and finally took a whole load of pictures so I could add a bunch of new items to my shop!  Check them out and see if you like them :)  New items include:

Three colours of Penguin Book Dangle Earrings:

A couple more 'academic style' of Book Dangle Earrings:

A little milk jug necklace with a cow:

A couple of stone tool rings:

And a new type of ring I'm calling 'Fairytale Rings':
I painted an illuminated letter on the page which I'm pretty proud of ;)  I think I know why I've been getting headaches lately, with all this squinting...!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

New for Spring: Gardener's Shelf Necklace

Introducing a brand new bookshelf necklace!  This one is inspired by the Spring season and the fact that I really want to learn how to garden:

Isn't it cute?  It contains lots of cute little handmade polymer clay items such as seed packets, a tomato and a book titled 'Spring' on the first shelf, a bunch of tools and a pair of gloves on the second, and a trug full of garden goodies on the bottom.  A perfect gift for someone who loves gardening.

Now that it's April I wanted to introduce this new Spring-y item - tomorrow I will be rolling out this month's special discount.  And stay tuned for another giveaway to be starting soon as well!  Watch this space! :)

New Item: Battenburg Earrings!

Battenburg is the most delicious of the tea time treats in my opinion.  I'd never heard of it until I moved the the UK - it's a pink and yellow sponge cake, with jam between the layers, wrapped in marzipan.  Genious!  Extrememly sweet, but I have a sweet tooth to match it.

I tried my hand at making this yummy treat out of polymer clay, and this is the result:

Yummm!  Makes me want to put the kettle on and have a break...

New Item: Graduation Bookshelf Necklace

Graduation Bookshelf Necklace, £30
A new bookshelf necklace!  I thought it would be sweet to have a little bookshelf necklace to commemorate someone's graduation.  I made the necklace complete with a mortarboard sitting on the top, as well as a graduation certificate on the top shelf tied up with a red piece of string.  Very cute, very academic!  I nice little gift to give to that person who has been working so hard all these years... or who, perhaps, is about to embark out on that degree and you want to give them a gift that reminds them of their goal!!

It's been a few years since I graduated, and I'm desperate to return and do my PhD... perhaps that's why this theme has spring up!  I want someone to have to purchase this necklace for me!!!

New Item: Teapot Earrings

I've had a go at making some of the tiny teapots I  make for my Teapot Bookshelf Necklace into teapot earrings.  Here is the result:

Cute, no?  I immediately made two pairs because I wanted one for myself ;)  They're not too hard to make, although they're a bit fiddly and it's hard to get them looking the same, so I priced them at £5 in my Etsy shop.  Not too bad I think!

I think I'll try making them in a few other colours, such as red and maybe light blue, or painted white and blue...?  Maybe some polka dotted ones?

New Bookshelf Necklace: Gothic

Introducing another new bookshelf necklace design!  This one is crackled black with silver underneath.  The books are in a black white and red colour scheme.  A bit dark and romantic perhaps?

New Bookshelf Necklace: Tea Shop

I've introduced a new bookshelf necklace to my Etsy shop!  Well... not technically new, since I made this design about 6 months ago, and then made just one and sold it.  But someone requested I make another recently, and I decided to start making them made-to-order!

My jewellery reflects things in life I love, like sushi, books... and it's natural that tea is incorporated somewhere!  This bookshelf is a bright sunny yellow, and the inside back board is a light pink.  I made tiny teapot and teacup with saucer to place on the shelves in white polymer clay as well.  It sells for £30 plus shipping.  Taadaa!
